WOW! I want to thank you all for the AMAZING response to my Review: LulaRoe and the Plus Sized Gal post! I had no idea how well this post would do and I am humbled that you all would read my words and use the info I shared with you. My only hope that I was able to help you!
After I wrote my post, LulaRoe put out some items in extended sizes so I wanted to write another post to give you more information on the items I was not able to fit in when I wrote the first post. I also wanted to show you a few pieces that I didn't show before like the Irma and the Cassie skirt which I talked about but didn't have pictures for. Huge thank you to my friend Heather from LulaRoe by Star for letting me do a photo shoot at her house and for taking some of the photos! Here goes nothing! ;)
Julia Dress: This dress scares the bejeezus out of me. It's a sheath dress that's very form fitting. You know, then I put on some stripes... lol. This is the 3XL and it fits really nice. It's extremely comfortable on me. I'm not sure I would wear this dress out because I'm insecure about my large mid section. I love the way this dress looks on other people though.
The Amelia Dress: The dress I am wearing is a 3XL BUT if the material is stretchy, I can also wear a 2XL. I was concerned about the box pleats because I thought they would make me look even rounder than I already am. I no longer feel that way. I feel that the pleats HIDE my roundness because people might think "oh, the pleats make it flair out a bit." The pockets are to die for! I actually bought this watermelon dress and I wear it all the time. I love being able to put my phone in my pocket so I can easily take it out and take photos which is something I do ALL the time. I also feel like Amelia dresses up really well. I can put on heels and jewelry and look like I'm ready for a night out on the town.
The Nicole Dress: In my previous post, I was wearing Nicole in a size 2XL which fit me but squished my chest a bit and is a little tight in the arms. I can still wear it especially if I love the fabric but I much prefer the 3XL Nicole like the one shown here. I LOVE the flirty skirt on the Nicole, it makes me feel very feminine! I wear this dress all the time because I feel very put together but fun when I wear it.
The Cassie Skirt (and The Perfect T): The Cassie skirt is a pencil skirt and I think it looks great for the office. Also for a date night because the pencil skirt can be styled to be very sexy. This Cassie is in a 3XL but I can wear a 2XL in stretchy material. I love how Heather styled me in this skirt with the Perfect T, tied on one side. I'm not comfortable wearing a tight skirt and a tight shirt. I usually like to wear fitted either top or bottom then loose on the other half of my body. You can also pull Cassie higher or lower depending on your shirt to make it a short or longer skirt.
Perfect T: The Perfect T is my new favorite piece! I will even wear horizontal stripes in the Perfect T which I NEVER wear. In this picture, I'm wearing a 3XL which is too big for me. I think you should size down in the Perfect. I really like the Perfect T in an XL on me if you can believe that! I'm confident that I could actually wear the 3XL as a dress if I was bold enough.
The Randy shirt: Randy is a baseball tee. This is in a 3XL which fits me. The 2XL is way too tight on my tummy for my comfort. It's a cute casual shirt that would be cute with jeans. The length is good for leggings too.
The Irma Tunic: In my last post, I complained that the Irma was too boxy for me. I still feel that way. The way I'm shaped doesn't suit wearing a loose shirt like this. My chest is too big and if the shirt doesn't pull back in at the waist, I look like a giant blob. But I still posted a picture for YOU because I love you and I hope you love me and in all my blobby glory. This is a 2XL Irma and I think it's the size that looks best on me even though I can fit into the XL.
The Azure Skirt: This is a cute mid length skirt that I would consider a little flow-y and flirty. I can wear 2XL or 3XL in this skirt. In the photo, I'm wearing a 3XL. I prefer to wear my shirt untucked with this skirt to cover my tummy but I've seen some people tuck their shirt in and it looks GREAT on them. Maybe someday I'll be bold enough to do that. I love Azure! I think it's a light and cool (temperature wise) skirt that's really easy to wear.

I love this post with my WHOLE heart ♥ You rock every single outfit, Ashley!! And are so dang gorgeous!! Have a great time at your party. I can't wait to see what new outfits you get!! Maybe a Carly dress? :)
ReplyDeletewell I thought you looked great in ALL the outfits! what a fun post!
ReplyDeleteHi Ashley! I searched for Lularoe plus size reviews and yours is the first that came up, and seeing as how you are a fellow card maker and I recognized your name I was tickled pink! Several people have recently invited me to their Lularoe parties on FB but I had no idea what it was. But I keep seeing it so I decided to investigate today. I'm very self conscious about my body so I really appreciate you showing pictures of these items and doing your review. I think we're about the same size (except my chest is MUCH smaller than yours!) I have very large upper arms which can be a pain when trying on clothing because having a smaller bust and waist if I buy a top big enough to accommodate my large arms it's too big through the body. How do the arms run on the Lularoe shirts? I also have heavy legs and large calves but I'm heartened reading your description of the leggings and that you feel that they make your legs look smaller. I LOVE the look of the leggings with the long shirts! Back when I was thinner and leggings were very popular I loved wearing them and I'd love to be able to wear them again! Mostly I want to be able to wear things that are comfortable and stylish without feeling like I have to hide my body. I related to what you said about wearing black all the time hoping it made you look slimmer. I also tend to wear things very baggy to cover up the bulges but sometimes I think that just makes me look bigger! Anyway, thanks for your review! If I can't find a local consultant who will let me try things on I might order from you on August 10th (my BIRTHDAY by the way, perfect time to buy some things for me!)
ReplyDeleteThe Irma is the top with the smallest sleeves but I heard they re-did them and made them bigger. I also have large arms. The shirts fit me well, I have had no issues with the sleeves on them. The Nicole dress can be snug in the arms if you try to go on the smaller side, I'm more in between a 2XL and a 3XL so with those, I should go up.
DeleteThanks, Ashley, and thanks for adding me to the FB group!
DeleteThank you for sharing! It's hard to shop without trying clothes on so I was desperately googling for pics of LLR fitting on my shape/size, so glad I ran across your 1st post and now this update :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, I think you look great in that Irma!
Ashley let me just say you ROCK! I am so happy I just found your blog. Thank you for the post and taking the time to answer all the questions. Your information has definitely decided me to place my order :) You and your daughter are beautiful and I love the outfits
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reviews! One question - what is the top you're wearing with the blue skirt in the last photo? Also, what size is that? I think this will help me make a choice for one to try with the black leggings I just got.
ReplyDeleteThat's just a navy t-shirt from my closet. It's from Old Navy in an XXL.
DeleteThanks for the reviews! Can you please tell me what top you are wearing in the last photo with the blue skirt? The size as well?
ReplyDeleteOh, fantastic post, thank you!
ReplyDeleteI'm just a bit smaller than you but have the same feelings about the Irma. It's definitely a blobby thing on me -- I have a big bust and big hips and while I do carry a good bit of weight in my belly at my current weight, visually I'm still an hourglass so I need stuff to skim my figure. Nicole in a 2XL (belted at my natural waist) is my BFF and makes me look super slim. I'm also in love with the maxi and azure and Classic tee.
I also fear Cassie with my belly and saddle bags, but I'm finding if i wear a Monroe (or Lindsay? Just bought my first) it helps to camouflage my hips while a longer shirt hides my belly. Still haven't gotten the guts to wear one in public though. I also shift between an XL and 2XL since the XL fits my waist better, but the 2XL fits my hips....
I think you look great in all the looks! This was a great post!
ReplyDeleteAshley, First of all you are so beautiful! And second thank you so much for trying on all these looks! It's amazing how a piece of clothing can change the entire look of our bodies. You sold me on the Amelia dress! My belly is my issue as well and I had the same pleat fear as you! Ha!! But you look awesome. And ps I loved the irma on you!
ReplyDeleteHooray! Thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteHave you tried a Madison skirt?
ReplyDeleteThis has been so helpful! Have you tried a Madison skirt?
ReplyDeleteI haven't. I don't have a local person who sells the Madison and I don't want to buy one without trying it on first b/c I'm afraid it might make me look super puffy.
DeleteHi do you think the classic tee is true to size? I am normally a xxl.
ReplyDeleteYes, I would say they are.
DeleteYou are so beautiful in all of your LLR! Your are giving me hope that I can look good too. I've been clicking to order and then backing out. Please, oh please, review the Carly for us! I've heard great things about it.
DeleteDo you think the Amelia fit to size? I wear 18-20 on pants so I ordered the XL but feel I should have gone with the XXL.
ReplyDeleteDo you think the Amelia fits true to size? I normally wear 18-20 in pants and got XL. I feel I should have gotten a XXL
ReplyDeleteYes, unless you are SUPER busty. I'm pretty busty and I'm a 22/24 and I can wear a 2xl or a 3xl. I prefer the 3xl because it's roomier in my chest and arms.
DeleteYOU are incredible girl! Gorgeous and brave and amazing! Thank you so soooo much for these posts and pictures!!! When I grow up I want your self confidence!!!! LOL ((Haha...I'm way older than you!)) Big time HUGS!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have looked at this and your other blog post a dozen times when buy LulaRoe items, it has been so helpful!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the awesome reviews and pictures! I'm pretty much the same size as you so it was super helpful and I totally agree with all your reviews! I'm currently contemplating a joy and I was wondering if I can pull of a large or if I should go for the xl... I was curious if you have tried them and what you think. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ashley for the awesome reviews and pictures! I'm your size and checked out your first blog before buying any lularoe... now I can't stop lol. I'm contemplating a joy and was wondering if I can fit a large or if I should stick to an xl? Have you tried a joy? What do you think?
ReplyDeleteI can fit in the large. It depends on your bust, I'm a 44F. My friend Heather who is smaller than I am but bustier wears an XL.
DeleteThese posts are awesome and so helpful!! Thank you!! Love the outfits on you! I love the perfect T too and I really want to love my Irma but I too feels it's too boxy.
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you, thank you for doing this!!! I love seeing someone built similarly to myself in the clothes I've been deliberating on buying! You look fab and have sold me on needing some for myself!!
ReplyDeleteWhere can I go to see everything? Like a catalog? I want to get some leggings for my little girl and myself. Just can't seem to find anything.
ReplyDeleteThere aren't catalogs. This is a consultant based business. The company only makes a certain amount of pieces in each print and the consultants don't know what prints they will receive. Here are a couple consultant Facebook groups where you can purchase:
DeleteHeather: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1599232483674900/
Julia: https://www.facebook.com/groups/LuLaRoeJuliaEmerson/
Julia will have her inventory ready to sell tomorrow Sept 29.
DeleteAshley, Your reviews of LuLaRoe is so helpful. I've never been to a party but ordered the Azure skirt and like it. I'm going to try a few other pieces now, thanks to your blog. Thank you!

ReplyDeleteThank you for taking the time to do this - and to put yourself out there for the sake of helping us see how LLR fits a real woman! I just ordered an XL Amelia & keeping my fingers crossed that I'll fit it. I'm usually a 1X or 16/18 depending on the brand, so we'll see. I'm not a huge fan of the prints LLR offers, so I bought it in a gray solid. I'm glad they make solids, too. The Amelia had me at the zipper ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove this! So helpful! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHi Ashley! I am interested in trying some LLR pieces but the size charts seem all over the map. I Googled and up came your review. Soooo soooo very helpful! Thanks so much! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for doing this post, you have no idea how helpful it is. I tried a 2X Randy at a pop-up before and iI was so bummed when it didn't fit. It looks like the sizes you wear in different styles are very similar to the sizes that fit me, so I just bought a Randy 3X on an online sale.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this posting. I am shaped much like you. I'm going to get myself an Amelia right away. Love the way it looks on you. Thank you!!! You look beautiful in everything btw!!! If you post about the Carly let me know. I'm dying to see that one!
ReplyDeleteI'm dying to see the Carly in a 3x. I'm shaped much like you. Thank you so much for posting these. I'm going to get an Amelia right away! Love the way it looks on you. Nicole, too. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ this post!!!
ReplyDeleteI am working on a new post with Carly. Not sure when it will be ready, I need to get a couple more photos.
DeleteWhat size Irma do you prefer? In your first blog I thought you said XL, but can fit in L. This blog you said 2XL. I'm very new to all this. My first outfit was TC and 2XL Perfect T. Perfect T was super stretchy, love it. Tried a 3XL Randy, it fit but it was more form fitted than I like. Also tried a 2XL classic T. It fit, material wasn't as stretchy as my 2XL Perfect. Would probably prefer a 3XL Classic. I'm interested in the Carly too, but again I don't know what size. I feel like I need to get my top sizes down first.
ReplyDeleteI can FIT into anywhere from a L to a 3XL Irma. I think that the 2XL looks the best on my body. The Irma is a very loose fitting tunic, the smaller you go the tighter it will fit to your body. It depends on the look you want to achieve. In Perfect T, I like the XL. In Classic, I like 3XL. In Carly, again, I can wear from L to 3XL but all the Carly dresses I've purchased at size XL.
DeleteThanks SO much for the reviews! I think you rock the Irma, btw!
ReplyDeleteI need to know, am I the only girl out there who wears shapewear with her lularoe leggings?!! I am post gastric sleeve and top innervous thighs are like jelly from. Large amount of weight loss. Just curious if anyone does spanx, I can't find Snyder info anywhere else!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I found your post with reviews and pictures! I'm a bigger lady as well, and I don't have any local LuLaRoe consultants to be able to stop in to see and try things on, so I've been wary about sizing. But, seeing your pictures and your reviews has helped immensely. =) Also, you look wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for doing this! Seeing how cute those dresses look on you makes me rethink my options! Now I have to decide between a Nicole and an Irma!
ReplyDeleteThank you!! Have you tried belting the Irma tunic with just a thing belt to cinch it a bit? I was looking for reviews on sizing because I'm nervous to just order sight-unseen without trying anything on. Your reviews helped me lots!
ReplyDeleteI do like the Irma cinched in but it's still not something I'm comfortable wearing so I don't wear it. Thank you for the comment and I'm glad it helped you! <3

You loom beautiful in that Irma girl! Thanks for the awesome reviews! Def helped me make my choice on the Randy size!
ReplyDeleteThanks you SO much for this post. I am the same size and body shape as you so it really helps me determine what I can be comfortable in, especially since I don't like to wear dresses but my company is going to a business dress code. I see many dresses and skirts in my future. Thank you again!!
ReplyDeleteThank you!!! I was just introduced to LLR less than a week ago, but had doubts that anything would be able to fit my body type. You look INCREDIBLE in your photos, and gave me the confidence to buy! Your breakdown of what each piece was perfect - I now know everything I need to navigate the online sales! All I really need now is for everything to arrive so I can check sizes! Thanks again!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Ashley, I tried the 2x Julia and is so tight on my chest and belly, do you think 3x is much different in
ReplyDeleteRoominess from the 2x Julia?
I think it depends on the material actually. Some of it is very tightly woven and stiff and others have more stretch. I would try to find one with a softer, stretchier material.
